
KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old man was charged in the magistrate's court here today with two counts of murder in connection with a fatal crash along Jalan Ampang earlier this month.
No plea was recorded from the accused, Danish Raman Kamar Kumaresan, after the charges were read before magistrate Nurul Izzzah Hasan Basri.
On the first charge, he is alleged to have caused the death of A. Doraisingam, 65, at about 5.30am on May 2 along Jalan Ampang from the direction of KLCC towards Ampang Point.
On the second charge, he is accused of murdering A. Menagah, 56, at the same time and location.
Both charges were framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death penalty, or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years and whipping of not less than 12 strokes if the death penalty is not imposed. - NST
