PETALING JAYA:
Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli says Parti Bersama Malaysia, which he and Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad will be joining next week, will contest elections independently and will not align itself with any political coalition.

Rafizi said Bersama would position itself as a multiracial platform which contests seats across political divides.

“We are not tied to any coalition. We are multiracial and open to contesting anywhere,” he told a press conference today, adding that Bersama would determine its electoral strategy based on ground support rather than political alliances.

“We will contest wherever there is support, regardless of party – Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan, Perikatan Nasional, PAS, or others.

“We want to offer voters a real alternative.”

Rafizi also stressed that both he and Nik Nazmi were not driven by positions or titles, but by the need to push for political change, which he said could not be achieved solely through electoral victories.

He said Bersama, which has existed for about a decade, would now take on a national role focusing on youth leadership development, with older leaders mentoring younger candidates.

Rafizi also said the party’s symbol, featuring the mouse deer or kancil, represents agility, intelligence and courage, while its five stars reflect the Rukun Negara, and its pink and blue colours symbolise inclusivity and stability. - FMT
