KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain triggered flash floods at several key routes across the Klang Valley, causing widespread traffic congestion and leaving vehicles stranded.
Reports indicated that flooding near the Awan Besar Toll Plaza along the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) towards the city centre resulted in a traffic crawl stretching from Kinrara.
On the Bukit Jalil Highway, floodwaters near a petrol station in Kinrara heading towards Puchong Jaya caused congestion extending back towards Bukit Jalil.
Meanwhile, Persiaran P. Narayanan in Petaling Jaya was reported to be congested in all directions towards Jalan 222 following flash floods near the exit from the Federal Highway.
Pictures shared on social media showed several vehicles stranded in rising waters, with some motorists seen wading through flooded roads.
