Rosmah rejects all allegations over US property purchase

 

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, has issued a statement denying all allegations linking her to the purchase of a luxury property in New Jersey, United States.

The statement follows that of businessperson Daing A Malek Daing Rahaman, who yesterday also denied allegations linking him to the purchase, in a statement to Bernama.

The allegations were made by an X user named Mark Lansvin in a video shared on the social media platform.

I write in response to the widespread circulation, across various social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, of a series of videos containing grave, false, and defamatory allegations directed against me and members of my family.

I state, in the clearest and most unequivocal terms, that I deny each and every one of these allegations in their entirety. At no time have I been involved, whether directly or indirectly, in the purchase, financing, transfer, or ownership of any luxury property — including any property alleged to be valued at USD 13 million — nor have I financed, facilitated, or in any manner whatsoever arranged any such transaction on behalf of my son-in-law or any other individual or entity.

The allegations purporting to implicate me in the use of shell companies, offshore financial structures, or associations with any of the individuals or entities named in these videos are wholly without foundation, utterly false, and maliciously fabricated. They are unsupported by a single shred of credible evidence and represent nothing more than a calculated and deliberate campaign to defame me and to bring dishonour upon my family.

The publication and dissemination of these allegations constitute, in the clearest sense, acts of defamation and malicious falsehood. The contents are misleading, deeply irresponsible, and plainly designed to deceive the public, to undermine confidence in lawful processes, and to cause grave and irreparable harm to my reputation and that of my family.

In view of the gravity and seriousness of these matters, I have, on June 14, 2026, lodged a formal police report so that the relevant authorities will conduct a thorough and complete investigation into the individuals and any related party and accounts responsible for the creation and dissemination of this false, malicious and defamatory material. I am extending my full cooperation to the authorities and remain firmly committed to doing so.

I further demand, in the strongest possible terms, that the operators of all relevant social media platforms take immediate and decisive steps to remove, disable, and prevent any further circulation of these false and defamatory materials.

I hereby reserve all rights available to me at law, including the right to institute civil and pursue criminal proceedings against any individual or party who has published, republished, shared, or continues to disseminate these false and injurious allegations.

I call upon the public and the media to act with responsibility and restraint, to refrain from amplifying unverified, false and defamatory content, and to allow the authorities to conduct their investigations without interference or influence, in accordance with the due process of law.

This statement is issued strictly without prejudice to all my rights and remedies at law, which are expressly reserved in their entirety. - Mkini
