Rapid KL pulls train from service over faulty door

PETALING JAYA:

Rapid KL has withdrawn a train from service on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line for inspection after a fault which prevented one of its doors from closing properly yesterday.

In a statement, the rail operator said its operations team detected the technical problem at 11.08am yesterday.

“No injuries were reported in the incident. The train was subsequently withdrawn from service to undergo technical inspection and the necessary follow-up measures,” it said.

It also said that operational safety procedures were immediately activated to ensure passenger safety.

“The train was directed to the Taman Bahagia station, where passengers safely disembarked and were advised to continue their journey on the next available train,” Rapid KL said.

It added that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the technical fault, including an inspection of the train’s door system, before the appropriate repair works are carried out. - FMT
