PETALING JAYA:
Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Anwar Ibrahim said there is still much work to be done in a message to military and police personnel ahead of early voting in the Negeri Sembilan state election on Tuesday.

Anwar appealed to members of the armed forces, the police and their families to continue placing their trust in PH candidates, saying every vote would determine the state’s future direction.

“I know there is still much to be improved, and I have never considered what has been done so far to be enough,” he said in a Facebook post.

“With your continued support and mandate, God willing, we will continue working harder to uphold the dignity of the nation, safeguard the welfare of the people, and strengthen the well-being of all members of the security forces.”

PH has governed Negeri Sembilan since 2018 under menteri besar Aminuddin Harun.

On July 22, Anwar announced that Aminuddin would remain PH’s choice for the menteri besar post if the coalition secures a fresh mandate.

The Election Commission has set early voting on July 28, with polling day on Aug 1.

According to the commission, 16,884 military personnel and their spouses, as well as 5,455 police personnel and their spouses, are eligible to vote. - FMT
