PN adopts BN manifesto for Negeri Sembilan polls, adds 14 pledges

Perikatan Nasional has adopted Barisan Nasional’s manifesto as its joint election platform for the Negeri Sembilan state election, supplementing it with 14 additional pledges, coalition chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said tonight when launching the manifesto.

The additional commitments cover areas including administration, welfare, youth and family, education, the economy and employment.

Among the pledges are the Negeri Sembilan Blue Economy Plan, the establishment of a state talent corporation focusing on artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing, transit housing for graduates and newlyweds, and expanded assistance for B40 and lower-income M40 households.

PN also pledged special welfare allocations for non-Muslim religious affairs.

In education, the coalition plans to upgrade Kolej Yayasan Negeri Sembilan into a technical and vocational education and training (TVET)-based institution focusing on applied education, industrial research and innovation.

BN and PN are contesting the Negeri Sembilan polls under an electoral pact, with BN fielding candidates in 25 seats and PN in 11, with no overlap.

The two parties had earlier said they would combine their respective policy documents and campaign on a common manifesto.

BN unveiled its manifesto yesterday, pledging to attract RM30 billion in investments and create 50,000 jobs over the next five years if it forms the next state government.

Bersatu, while a member of PN, is competing on its own. The party also unveiled its manifesto earlier tonight. - FMT
