Anina's allegations 'not quite right', says Muhyiddin

The allegations made by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) co-founder Anina Saadudin, who resigned from her party post recently, are “not quite right” according to party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
Muhyiddin claimed that Anina had met him several months ago to express her intention to resign, but did not raise any issues about the party leadership at the time.
“This is her choice. All the statements that she made are not quite right because Anina (centre in photo) had seen me several months ago to express her desire to stop and perhaps leave the party.
“I asked why, and she said she was facing many problems. No money, no job… But she didn’t mention anything about my behaviour, about (Bersatu president Dr Mahathir Mohamad), or any other leader,” he said.
He added that Anina had not been attending party meetings for several months despite being a supreme council member.
Muhyiddin was speaking at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya today, after attending the proceedings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Bank Negara’s foreign exchange losses in the 1980s.
Two days ago, Anina announced her decision to quit the party, but said she would continue to champion the cause of Malays and Muslims through an NGO.

In her statement, she claimed that Bersatu was badly governed by leaders who could not be criticised.
She appeared to be particularly dissatisfied with Muhyiddin and Bersatu deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir, claiming that their past positions in government did not mean they had absolute power in the party.
“Even the people who fund the party do not have absolute power in the party (because) without members who work hard to help shape and support the development of the party, the leadership will be very lonely at the top,” she said. - Mkini
