PKR: If PAS wants to contest 42 seats, why remain in Selangor gov't

Selangor PKR Youth today questioned state PAS commissioner Sallehan Mukhyi's call that it is prepared to contest in 42 out of 56 state seats, including those held by PKR.
Its secretary Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman said Sallehan's announcement last month was a bad move, especially when PAS is presently part of state government.
“Such calls (to contest 42 seats) would certainly benefit Umno and BN in three-cornered fights. What is truly PAS' intention?” he asked in a statement.
“Is PAS trying to give an opportunity for Umno and BN to rule Selangor again with such an open announcement?”
Syed Badli said if that is the case, it would not be relevant for PAS to remain in the present Selangor government.
“Hence, PAS elected representatives who hold posts in the state government now should resign following their intention to allow the three-cornered fights.
"There is a mandate given to us by the people in the last election for us to work together," he added.
Syed Badli said if PAS is still for the people's agenda, then they should ensure a one-on-one contest.
“Lower your ego and come back to the negotiation table. If PAS wants to pawn Selangor to BN, then PAS is a clear enemy."

Sallehan had said that the party was capable of fielding 42 candidates for the state legislative assembly election and was prepared to face multi-cornered fights for the coming election.
"We are ready to contest all seats that will be contested by BN or Pakatan Harapan."
Sallehen added that the number of candidates the party will actually field would be determined by the PAS central committee and the party was also prepared to contest in the Gombak parliamentary seat, now held by Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali. - Mkini
