Ansa news agency says the man became upset after seeing the young couple kissing in front of Islamic centre.
PETALING JAYA: A 24-year-old Malaysian was arrested on Sunday night for allegedly attacking a couple kissing near an Islamic centre in Rome, Ansa news agency reported.
It said the couple were walking hand-in-hand in Rome’s Esquilino quarter.
The man was alleged to have told them: “You can’t kiss in front of the mosque.”
Ansa said the Malaysian then pushed the young woman.
He also allegedly punched and kicked the young man.
When police arrived, the Malaysian is said to have turned his anger towards them.
One of the policemen was slightly hurt when trying to detain the man. -FMT
