It will be a BN-Harapan 'Clash of the Titans', says Muhyiddin

The battle in the 14th general election (GE14) will only be fought between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan while the others will be left to flounder on thew wayside, said Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Muhyiddin Yassin.

"The rakyat only have two choices. Either BN or Harapan.

"There is no middle ground, those in the middle will drift away into the South China Sea," Muhyiddin told reporters at the Johor Amanah's convention held in Muar.

Muhyiddin said the strategy for Harapan would then be to increase Malay support, while at the same time not taking for granted the Chinese and Indian supporters.

"The Malay supporters are important because they are looking at what's going on," he said, while insisting that PAS supporters are also indirectly supporting BN.

At the same time, Muhyiddin also likened those who have left PAS and Umno to support Pakatan Harapan to the emigrants during times of Prophet Muhammad.

"We are the muhajirins (emigrants) because we face opposition from the jahiliah (ignorants) who only appear to be smart but actually they are ignorants out to destroy the country," said the former Umno deputy president, taking a swipe at the two parties.

Both Bersatu and Amanah are two Malay-majority parties within Harapan, set to face PAS and Umno in GE14.

PAS through its Gagasan Sejahtera bloc with Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia and other supporting organisations had repeatedly refused to cooperate with BN.

The Harapan central leadership had on Aug 29 also declared that the coalition would not cooperate with PAS in GE14. - Mkini
