KEVIN MORAIS, THE DPP WHO ‘DRAFTED’ 1MDB ARREST WARRANT, RETURNS TO HAUNT NAJIB: THEY INTENDED TO MURDER HIM – ACCIDENT INVOLVING KEVIN’S CAR & 4WD WAS DELIBERATE, SAYS WITNESS

KUALA LUMPUR – An investigating officer today told the High Court here that the accident involving deputy public prosecutor Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais’ car and a Mitsubishi Triton was deliberate and not a normal accident.
Insp Ahmad Zikri Zalik, 30, who is based at Sentul district police headquarters said the CCTV showed Kevin Morais’ Proton Perdana being followed by a four-wheel-drive vehicle with four persons inside.
“In my opinion, the crash was not an accident because the victim’s vehicle was tailed and investigations found that the accused persons also had a plan to meet the victim,” he said, responding to deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin’s question.
Earlier under cross-examination by counsel V. Rajehgopal, Ahmad Zikri who is the prosecution’s 68th witness also disagreed that it was a normal accident between two vehicles.
Five men – R. Dinishwaran, 25; A.K. Thinesh Kumar, 24; M. Vishwanath, 27; S. Nimalan, 24; and S. Ravi Chandaran, 46, stand accused of murdering Kevin Morais along Jalan Dutamas Raya Sentul and No.1 Jalan USJ1/6D, Subang Jaya, between 7 am and 8 pm on Sept 4, 2015.
Dr R. Kunaseegaran, 54, who is the first accused is facing a charge of abetting the five men in killing Kevin Morais at the same place, date and time.
Aside from Ahmad Zikri, Shah Alam senior assistant registrar Mislia Mohd Aris was also called today to testify as the prosecution’s 69th witness.
Trial continues tomorrow before Justice Datuk Azman Abdullah.
