Nhaveen's mum breaks down when four accused brought to court

The mother of murdered teen T Nhaveen broke down and cried in the George Town magistrate's court today when four teenaged suspects alleged to have brutally assaulted him were led into the courtroom.
D Shanti, who was present with her family to witness the court proceedings of the four accused charged with Nhaveen's murder, had to be led out of the room to be consoled, said lawyer Baljit Singh.
Baljit, who is keeping a watching brief for Nhaveen's family, said Shanti returned to the courtroom after she had calmed down.
He said the courtroom was packed with family members and friends of Nhaveen and the four accused. Later, after a break, only immediate family members of both sides were allowed in.
"But the case has been postponed to Dec 6 as we are yet to obtain the post-mortem report. The prosecution, too, has not obtained the results," he told Malaysiakini.
"We have applied for the post-mortem report and paid RM1,000 to the Penang Hospital for it on Aug 15 and yet we are still waiting.
"We hope we will get the post-mortem result by Dec 6 so that a full trial can commence," Baljit added.
"All that Nhaveen's family members want is justice. His mother said that she is not seeking revenge as she does not want any parent or family to go through what she did," he stressed.
The four accused - J Ragesuthan, 18, S Gokulan, 18, and two juveniles, aged 17 and 16, claimed trial to the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction.
The case was presided by senior assistant registrar Nur Fadrina Zulkhairi, while prosecuting officer Muhamad Shafiq Mohd Sazalli prosecuted.

Ragesuthen and Gokulan were represented by Ranjit Singh, while the two juveniles were represented by Manveer Singh and S Yagoo, respectively.
On June 9, Nhaveen's assault by the youths when he was returning home from work with his friend T Previin, 19, shocked the nation, with many decrying an end to teen bullying and violence.
Previin managed to escape from the group but Nhaveen succumbed to his injuries on June 16 at the Penang Hospital, where he had been unconscious for a week, breaking hearts of all those who have been closely following the case, which was also widely reported in the media. - Mkini
