Steering lock threat – Cops probing if woman's disabled husband was in the car

The police are checking if the husband of a woman who threatened a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) officer was in the car during the incident.
Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Megat Mohamad said investigations revealed that the woman's husband was disabled and possessed a valid disabled person's card.
“But the police are still investigating if the man was in the car at the time of the incident.
“Investigation papers are still being completed and we ask all parties to allow us to fully investigate this case thoroughly,” he was quoted as saying in Sinar Harian.
The police recorded the woman's statement yesterday. She was accompanied by her husband.
Megat Mohamad Aminuddin also requested for the case to not be “sensationalised” as the woman and her husband had come under intense pressure after the incident.
In the incident, a video recording of which had since gone viral, the woman shouted at the MPSJ officer and threatened him with the steering lock after her vehicle was clamped for illegal parking in Bandar Puteri, Puchong.
She was heard shouting at the officer about how she was buying food for her disabled husband and could not find a parking spot.
Netizens praised the officer for handling the incident calmly as he asked her for proof of her husband’s disabled person's card.

She failed to produce the card but had a “disabled driver” sticker on the windscreen of her car.
The officer later issued her a summon for the offence and had the car towed to the MPSJ towing depot. The woman's husband paid the RM190 fine on the same day and apologised for his wife's conduct.
The woman is being probed under Section 506 of the Penal Code which is related to “punishment for criminal intimidation” and carries a two-year prison term, or a fine, or both. - Mkini
