‘DIM BULB’ HISHAM PUT HIS FOOT IN HIS MOUTH AGAIN: THIS TIME, MINISTER CAUGHT RED-HANDED TELLING LIES EVEN AS HE DENIES BUILDING ARMY CAMP IN SEMBRONG TO CHEAT IN GE14

HISHAMMUDDIN Hussein must come clean on an army camp that will be built in his Sembrong parliamentary constituency in Johor, a DAP MP said.
Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong said there are about 20,000 voters in Sembrong and the camp is expected to add 10% more voters in the seat won by Hishammuddin, who is defence minister, with a razor-thin margin in the last general election.
“In the last election in this constituency, DAP lost by 100 votes, so Hishammuddin is building a camp here.
“I challenge him to deny that no camp is being built. He is lying through his teeth,” he said at a press conference at DAP headquarters today.
Hishammuddin had told Liew not to politicise the matter of almost 1,079 military personnel to be stationed at a camp, which will be ready by the end of this year in Segamat.
The Sembrong MP said Liew should not say that army voters would help Barisan Nasional in the next election.
“If it is true that the camp will help BN, as the defence minister I might as well have built the camp in my constituency of Sembrong,” he said.
Liew said it was reported that a camp is under construction in Paloh, which is under the Sembrong constituency.
DAP is questioning why are 1,079 military personnel and their spouses already registered as voters in the Segamat parliamentary constituency despite the camp being slated for completion in April 2018.
Earlier, DAP legal bureau secretary Michelle Ng said they will continue to assist the 48 applicants from Johor who have filed for a judicial review on the import of army voters into Segamat.
She said all objections giving rise to the judicial review filed on December 14 have been dismissed by the Election Commission.
“We will provide support for them in their judicial review and their appeal with the Election Commission,” she said.
