Report: Rela bashing 'Datuk Seri' expresses remorse

The 29-year-old "Datuk Seri" who was charged with assaulting People's Volunteer Corp (Rela) members last month, has expressed remorse over his actions, reported The Sun today.
"I want to be part of the society and I regret my actions.
"I am willing to extend my apology to the victims affected by the incident," Liow Soon Hee was quoted telling the daily after contributing some RM210,000 to Community Policing Malaysia founder Kuan Chee Heng today.
Liow said he will also leave it to the authorities to decide on calls for him to be stripped of his "Datuk Seri" title.
According to the report, Liow's contribution will go towards supporting university students, community policing efforts in Selangor, and building a basketball court in an independent Chinese school in Puchong.
Liow was charged with assaulting three Rela personnel who were on security duty at a Chinese temple in Kampung Baru, Ampang, about 6.30am on Oct 27.
This was after one of them told Liow, who had parked his car in front of the temple, to move the vehicle, as it was causing a traffic congestion. Two other Rela members who came to their colleague's assistance was also assaulted by Liow.
Liow, who is currently out on bail, could face up to seven years in jail and a fine, if convicted on four separate charges stemming from the incident.
He is also facing at least two other drug-related charges.  -Mkini
