Anwar sworn in as Port Dickson MP

PARLIAMENT | PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim has been sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Port Dickson.
Anwar took his oath in the Dewan Rakyat today before Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.
It was the first order of business for the House today, before the oral questions session began.
Loud applause was heard when Anwar’s name was called up for him to be sworn in.
He is seated at a senior position in the House, on the front row between DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang and Parti Warisan Sabah president Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Met at the Parliament lobby later, Anwar's wife, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, said she was happy to see him sworn in.
"From being denied his right to contest (in GE14 due to imprisonment) he is now back in Parliament," Wan Azizah said.
Anwar won the Port Dickson seat in a seven-way by-election last Saturday, with a landslide 23,560-vote majority.
His return to Parliament paves the way for him to succeed Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister. There is no timeline yet for the transition. - Mkini
