ADMIT IT LIOW, YOUR HEART BELONGS TO UMNO: MCA CHIEF MAKES ‘FAKE’ CALL TO DISSOLVE BN – WHICH IT CANNOT ON ITS OWN DO – THEN ENDS BY SAYING ‘IT’S NOT RIGHT TO LEAVE BN JUST BECAUSE WE LOST THE ELECTIONS’

PETALING JAYA– MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said MCA’s stand is not about quitting Barisan Nasional but to dissolve BN.
He said MCA was one of the major political parties forming the Barisan Nasional coalition back then, and for MCA to quit BN was therefore self-deprecating.
He added that since BN was no longer in meaningful existence following its thumping defeat in the 14th general elections, the best thing to do now was to dissolve the coalition.
“BN no longer has the support of majority of Malaysians, and the right thing to do now is to dissolve it instead of asking MCA to leave.”
Liow said during an interview with Sin Chew Daily that MCA was not at fault, as BN used to be embodiment of moderation, harmony and unity, but unfortunately Umno has now opted to team up with PAS.
Not right to leave BN
He said after the dissolution of BN, the original component parties could reform themselves on their own in order to tackle future general elections, adding that they could still come together one day if they share some common values.
However, he said the dissolution of BN required serious deliberation among the existing component parties.
Prior to this, Liow said he had told MIC and Umno to be psychologically prepared for this and that individual parties had to be allowed to strengthen their own parties.
On the upcoming party elections, Liow said it was unfair to tie the issue of BN to the candidates.
“It is not fair to leave BN just because the coalition lost in the election. MCA used to work very well with the Malays. We are not worried about Umno, but we should not hurt each other’s feelings by this.
“We don’t need an opposition coalition at this moment. That’s why I find it funny that Chua Soi Lek and Gan Ping Sieu have kept insisting to take MCA out of BN in their party election manifesto.
“This is unfair to the party because as president, I am seriously looking into this matter now, and has explained to the central committee what to do. They should be all aware of it!”
