KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police chief Omar Mammah says the criminal intimidation investigation involving former chief minister Musa Aman against Sabah governor Juhar Mahiruddin is still on-going.
Speaking to reporters here, he said they expect to submit their final investigation papers (IPs) to the federal Attorney-General’s Chambers “the soonest possible” to get further instructions on the case.
Asked why the probe was taking such a long time to wrap up, Omar said they had received many directives from the AG’s office.
“We have submitted our IPs to the AG’s office several times but were given many instructions on the case,” he said. He couldn’t recall how many people had been interviewed to facilitate the investigations.
Juhar lodged a report a day after the May 9 polls following Musa’s swearing in as chief minister at the state palace. Juhar swore in Warisan president Shafie Apdal on May 12, plunging the state into a constitutional crisis.
Following the report, it was said Musa flew to London to settle personal matters and to seek medical attention over an illness..
He returned to the country on Aug 23 after being away for three months.
Musa came back to Sabah to be sworn in as the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman on Sept 5 and flew back to Kuala Lumpur later the same day.
He also spent about two hours with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in KL on Sept 7. -FMT
