PETALING JAYA: Najib Razak said he was not concerned with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government’s move to rename a string of programmes started by his administration as long as they benefit the public.
The former prime minister today referred to Putrajaya’s rebranding of the Rural Transformation Centres (RTC) to Village Community Centres (PKD).
The government had earlier rebranded the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) to Village Community Management Council (MPKK), and the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) to Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH).
“The government of the day is really great and special. They have a talent for rebranding,” Najib said in his latest series of Facebook postings critical of the PH coalition.
He said the government was out to erase the legacies of the Barisan Nasional administration he once led and claim credit for various programmes through a “rebranding” exercise.
“It’s okay if they want to change the name, go ahead.
“What is important to me is that the rakyat still benefits from the programmes and initiatives we developed,” said Najib.
Since coming to power in May, the PH government has also renamed programmes bearing the 1Malaysia slogan linked to Najib, including in healthcare, welfare and housing. - FMT
