PORT DICKSON: As voting ended at 5.30pm Saturday (Oct 13) for the Port Dickson by-election, Pakatan Harapan supporters have started gathering at its main operation centre to catch live updates of the vote counting.
Supporters started to gather as early as 5.30pm at the main stage near the Port Dickson Waterfront.
Vote counting is being done at the Port Dickson Municipal Council Hall, and the first ballot boxes arrived there just before 6pm.
The first candidate seem seen arriving at the counting centre was independent candidate Lau Seck Yan, who was there with her husband.
Pakatan candidate Datuk Seri Anwar is expected to address supporters at 10.30pm in front of its operation centre.
According to unofficial results of the count from the Pakatan operation centre at about 6pm, Anwar is leading with 2,567 votes (55.65%) followed by PAS candidate Lt-Kol (Rtd) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar with 1,843 votes (39.81%), Tan Sri Isa Samad with 157 votes (3.39%)
According to information provided by the Election Commission, voter turnout at 4pm was at 54%.- Star
