PKR POLLS | PKR deputy president hopeful Rafizi Ramli has narrowed the gap with incumbent Mohamed Azmin Ali by winning both the elections in Kelantan and Terengganu today.
It was a tight race in both states. In Kelantan, Rafizi polled 5,211 votes to Azmin’s 4,922. In Terengganu, Rafizi polled 1,506 to Azmin’s 1,269.
After three weeks of voting, Azmin has polled 14,020 votes – just 177 votes ahead of Rafizi.
For the vice-presidency race, Nurul Izzah Anwar and Zuraida Kamaruddin maintained pole and second position respectively.
After the third week, Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin has climbed up to the third position followed by Tian Chua. The elections will only elect four vice-presidents.
Elections for Pahang will be held tomorrow followed by the Federal Territories and Labuan.
Akmal takes the lead
Meanwhile, Akmal Nasir has managed to overtake Afif Bahardin in the PKR Youth chief race.
Like his team leader Rafizi, Akmal won in both Kelantan and Terengganu.
However, Akmal’s running mate Raymond Ahuar did not manage to improve his position in those two states.
Instead, the race for the PKR Youth deputy chief position saw Hilman Idham pulling even further ahead of Raymond.
Wanita chief candidate Haniza Talha and her running mate Dr Daroyah Ali have managed to maintain their lead against their opponents Fuziah Salleh and Rodziah Ismail. - Mkini
