‘THE MOVE HAS BEEN MADE, THE MEETING DONE’: ZAHID CRIES FOR HELP AS WAVE 3 OF EXODUS BEGINS – WITH PAHANG STATE GOVT THE FIRST UMNO STATE GOVT TO FALL AS REPS & MPs PREPARE TO JUMP SHIP

PAHANG Umno elected representatives are being wooed with money in a bid to topple the Barisan Nasional state government, said Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Umno president said there were enemies within the party working through “threats and gentle persuasion” to get Umno MPs and assemblymen to turn against the Pahang government.
“There are people within the party working to topple it in Pahang. I won’t accuse anyone but we have to be wary.
“We must stop Pahang MPs and assemblymen from moving to the other side. They have been meeting with the person from the other side.

“The move has been made. The meeting has been done. There are witnesses, too. We have to defend what we have and ensure our people remain with us,” he was quoted as saying by Umno online at an Umno Temerloh division retreat today.
“Don’t worry about me… whatever my decision (on staying on as party president), I will remain with Umno as I want to see the party stay relevant.
“Whoever is the president after me, the important thing is for Umno to return to power in Putrajaya,” he was quoted as saying in the report.
Last week has seen the Umno president come under pressure after 11 MPs, nine assemblymen and two senators quit the party to become independents supporting the leadership of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He is also facing calls from several Umno leaders to step down from his party position following the defections.
Khairy has also openly urged the Bagan Datuk MP to relinquish his post.
Today evening, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed receiving a report concerning Zahid’s involvement in alleged money politics during the party elections in June.
MACC (operations) deputy chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed the report was lodged but refused to divulge details on the case.
He said the MACC would begin investigations if the report had merit.
“Yes, we have received a report linking Zahid with money politics,” he told The Malaysian Insight.
