Amid Azmin's continued absence, PKR sec-gen issues reminder to attend meetings

All leaders have been reminded to prioritise attendance at party meetings over other matters, according to PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil (above).
This comes amid PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali's absence for the party's monthly Central Leadership Council (MPP) meeting at its headquarters today, as well as the party's retreat last weekend.
"The MPP has been reminded by the secretary-general today that the schedule for our meetings, including MPP meetings and political bureau meetings, have been distributed in advance.
"So we will know (ahead of time) for the next two or three months, these are the dates," Fahmi told a press conference after the meeting chaired by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
"The leaders have been reminded to be present (for the meetings) and prioritise their attendance so that we can, as a party, coordinate decisions taken.
"That reminder has been issued to all leaders," Fahmi said when asked whether Azmin's continued absence could warrant disciplinary action from the party.
Quizzed further on whether failure to heed the secretary-general's repeated reminder could result in disciplinary action against Azmin, Fahmi said the decision will lie with PKR's political bureau.
Other notable leaders absent today included PKR vice-presidents Zuraida Kamaruddin and Tian Chua, PKR Wanita chief Haniza Talha and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
Anwar was spotted leaving the party headquarters as the press conference was ongoing.
Fahmi earlier explained that many of the leaders had immediately left after today's meeting as they were flying to Sarawak for a state Harapan function. - Mkini
