Boris Johnson Britain's New Prime Minister

The new British PM Boris Johnson has quite a colorful history. He has been married three times. His second wife is a Sikh of Punjabi-English parents. His children have been given beautiful names like Lara Lattice, Casia Peaches, Milo Arthur and Theodore Apollo - reflecting also Johnson's unconventional thinking.

Marina Wheeler former 2nd wife of Boris Johnson, Sikh by religion,
lawyer by profession. Her ancestors hail from Sargodha, Punjab.  Half
British and half Indian descent.  Father was journalist Sir Charles Wheeler.

Here are some news excerpts about Johnson's views on some things :

on Islam -  Muslim leaders ask if Boris Johnson still believes that religion put Islamic world 'centuries behind' the West and that 'Muslim grievance' was a factor in virtually every conflict as he wrote in 2007 essay

newly uncovered essay revealed

claimed 'Muslim grievance' a factor in virtually every global conflict

written decade ago in 2007 edition of his book on Roman empire

Muslim Council of Britain demanded if next Prime Minister still believes 'Islam inherently inhibits the path to progress and freedom'.

Mr Johnson wrote: 'There must be something about Islam that indeed helps to explain why there was no rise of the bourgeoisie, no liberal capitalism and therefore no spread of democracy in the Muslim world'.

He added Islam was held back by 'fatal religious conservatism' and the Muslim world had 'fallen behind, the more bitterness and confusion there has been, to the point where virtually every global flashpoint you can think of – from Bosnia to Palestine to Iraq to Kashmir – involves some sense of Muslim grievance.'

He wrote: 'It is extraordinary to think that under the Roman/Byzantine empire, the city of Constantinople kept the candle of learning alight for a thousand years, and that under Ottoman rule, the first printing press was not seen in Istanbul until the middle  of the nineteenth century. Something caused them to be literally centuries behind."

OSTB :  Maybe Boris Johnson read my book 'Malaysia and the Club of Doom - The Collapse of the Isamic Countries' which was published in 2006 - a year before he wrote these comments.

Bois Johnson on Christianity -  showed  'disgusting cruelty' over course of history.  'wasn't long ago we were burning books and heretics ourselves. These Muslims are not some alien species .'

He also said  Turkey's 'far from perfect' record on human rights was reason for keeping Turks on tram tracks to EU membership

2016 referendum he warned Turkey joining EU reason to leave

he described burka as 'ridiculous' and 'weird'
said women wearing them looked like letter-boxes or bank robber

His essay on Islam has been blasted by faith groups.

Mr Johnson still believes Islam inherently inhibits path to progress and freedom, and whether he still thinks Turkey should be admitted to the European Union

on Turkey's  Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Boris penned a poem calling the Turkish leader 'a w****erer' from Ankara (whackerer?)

In May 2016 Johnson won a £1,000 competition run by Spectator magazine to write the most offensive poem possible about Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He composed a satirical limerick describing the key regional power broker having sex with a goat and calling him a 'w******r', to rhyme with the Turkish capital, Ankara.

It said:
  • There was a young fellow from Ankara
  • Who was a terrific w***erer
  • Till he sowed his wild oats
  • With the help of a goat
  • But he didn't even stop to thankera

on France  -   Johnson accused French of acting like 'turds' over Brexit.

Jan 2017 compared Francois Hollande to WW2 'punishment beatings'.

on Libya - Sirte city where Gaddafi killed could be next Dubai once  cleared away dead bodies

on Barack Obama -  In April 2016 described Obama as 'part-Kenyan' who harboured 'ancestral dislike' of Britain

on Japan -  In October 2015 he was filmed wiping out 10-year-old Japanese schoolboy during street rugby on a visit to Tokyo.

The images saw burly Boris take out Toki Sekiguchi

Toki Sekiguchi said afterwards: 'I felt a little bit of pain but it's OK.'

on Commonwealth countries and the Congo -

In 2008 he described Queen being greeted in Commonwealth countries by 'flag-waving piccaninnies' – a derogatory term for black children.

The same column mentioned Blair greeted by 'tribal warriors in watermelon smiles'

on China -   In August 2008 offended hosts said table tennis developed from Victorian English game called 'whiff-whaff'.

told Chinese 'ping pong is coming home'.

on Hillary Clinton -  2007 described Hillary Clinton 'a sadistic nurse in a mental hospital'.

on Papua New Guinea -  2006 Johnson forced to apologise  after linking it with 'cannibalism and chief-killing'

He wrote: Tory Party have become used to Papua New Guinea-style orgies of cannibalism and chief-killing

Boris used to be editor of The Spectator

2004 apologised to Liverpool for accusing them of wallowing in pity after engineer Ken Bigley's killing in Iraq.

on Portsmouth -  2007 he caused fury after he described Portsmouth in a GQ magazarticle as 'too full of drugs, obesity, underachievement and Labour MPs'.

OSTB :  Britain may not be so dull anymore.

Err . . .Dr Mahathir there is no need to insult him yet. Give him some time. Lets see what he does. Which is more important than what he says or has said in the past. Actions are more important than words.
