KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) Terminal 2 here on Monday (Jan 9).
The Prime Minister touched down in a direct flight from Jakarta at 9.40pm.
He was greeted by embattled Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as well as other Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
Sabah Pakatan Harapan assemblymen and leaders including its state chief Datuk Christina Liew and federal minister Datuk Ewon Benedick were also on hand to receive the premier.
The Prime Minister then got into a car and is believed to be heading to the chief minister’s official residence in Sri Gaya.
Anwar was in the state capital to resolve the political impasse between GRS, Sabah Barisan Nasional and Parti Warisan.
Besides Hajiji, Anwar will also be meeting Sabah Barisan chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived in the state capital at 7.45pm. - Star
