KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has announced the resignation of its non-independent non-executive director Asri Hamidin with effect from Jan 5.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, TNB said Asri, 56, will also cease as tender committee board chairman and as member of two committee boards, the nomination and remuneration, and long-term incentive plan, all on the same date.
“The board of directors would like to express its appreciation to Asri for his contribution to the company,” TNB said.
In a separate filing, TNB also announced the cessation of office of Faisal @ Pisal Abdul Ghani, 44, as alternate director to Asri with effect from Jan 5.
Asri is the current Treasury secretary-general, having been appointed to the post on May 1, 2020.
He has served in the civil service for 26 years after joining as an assistant director at the economic planning unit (EPU) under the Prime Minister’s Department on June 1, 1994, and held various positions in the finance ministry including Treasury deputy secretary-general (Policy); government investment companies’ division secretary, and privatisation division deputy secretary. - FMT
