Covid-19 (Jan 12): 383 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 383 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 11,126, down 9.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (141)
Kuala Lumpur (58)
Sarawak (31)
Malacca (28)
Penang (27)
Kedah (17)
Negeri Sembilan (14)
Perak (13)
Johor (11)
Kelantan (11)
Terengganu (10)
Putrajaya (8)
Sabah (6)
Labuan (4)
Pahang (2)
Perlis (2)


Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,905 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 52 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 169 deaths last month and 209 deaths in November.

There are 495 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 20 are in intensive care.

The total number of hospitalised Covid-19 patients has not been this low since Sept 25, 2020.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (48), followed by Sabah (44) and Johor (16). - Mkini
