PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah this afternoon.
In a Facebook posting, the Bera MP thanked Sultan Abdullah for granting him the audience at Istana Negara, believed to have taken place at 2.30pm.
They are understood to have met for an hour.
This is believed to be the first official meeting between the former prime minister and the King since the 15th general election which installed Anwar Ibrahim as the head of the unity government.
Ismail served as Malaysia’s ninth prime minister for one year and 51 days, making him the shortest-serving Malaysian prime minister.
Ismail succeeded Muhyiddin Yassin, who served as prime minister for 17 months. - FMT
