Special task force to probe complaints about TnG’s service

The special task force on complaints on the Touch ’n Go service will be headed by the secretary-general of the domestic trade and cost of living ministry.

PETALING JAYA: Frequent complaints about Touch ’n Go’s (TnG) service have prompted domestic trade and cost of living minister Salahuddin Ayub to set up a special task force.

He said these complaints were related to TnG Visa prepaid cards, difficulties in obtaining TnG cards, problems with the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and unanswered hotlines.

Salahuddin said the special task force to be formed soon would be led by the ministry’s secretary-general, Bernama reported.

He said the team had to be set up due to the rising complaints from consumers about the TnG service, especially during the Chinese New Year celebration week.

“I have asked the relevant bodies to conduct a study and the management of TnG to respond to the complaints and grievances from the public.”

Salahuddin said he had personally received some of these complaints and he would ask for a report to be submitted to the ministry for each case.

“For example, yesterday, we received details about a particular issue and the company responded immediately. This will enable us to monitor the issue.”

Salahuddin said action would be taken against the company if it fails to fulfil its responsibility and resolve problems related to the service. - FMT
