Any factions aspiring to take over the Sabah government should wait until the next state election to determine if they have the support of the people, GRS information chief Joniston Bangkuai said.
He said the focus should now be to hasten and intensify efforts to develop the state, not on hatching a plot to unseat the current state government.
Joniston (above) stressed that any moves that could bring about political instability in Sabah should be avoided and instead all concerned should focus on strengthening unity.
"Let's not disrupt the good and productive work the current state government is doing. It is regrettable that certain quarters appear to continue undermining the state government led by Chief Minister Hajiji Noor," the Kiulu assemblyperson added in a statement last night.
Joniston said the state has seen tremendous growth with Hajiji’s able leadership, including recording the highest state revenue ever of RM6.6 billion in 2022, among others.
"In addition, the annual assemblyperson allocation for this year has been increased to RM3 million, with RM2.5 million set aside for small projects and RM500,000 for touch point programmes," he added.
Yesterday GRS secretary-general Masidi Manjun said the party was ready to prove the validity of Sabah assemblypersons’ support for Hajiji as chief minister after it was revealed that certain parties claimed they have the support of more than half of the Sabah state assemblypersons to form a new state government.
