PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has dismissed allegations by the Bar Council that it violated Section 46 of the MACC Act 2009 by summoning a lawyer for questioning in its ongoing probe involving businessman Albert Tei.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the accusation was baseless, stressing that the commission had acted strictly within the powers granted under the law.
Azam said Section 46, which protects solicitor-client privilege, had never been disregarded by MACC - NST
