KUALA LUMPUR: A man is believed to have fallen asleep while driving, causing his car to crash into a school fence on Jalan Kampung Pasir here, early this morning.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said that in the 1.50am incident, the man, in his 40s, crashed into the stone fence of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Saraswathy, damaging it.
"However, no injuries were reported," he said in a statement.
The driver has since gone to the police station to lodge a report and provide further statements.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He said members of the public or witnesses with relevant information are urged to assist the investigation by contacting Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999, or any nearby police station. - NST
