KUALA LUMPUR: Seventy per cent of the 400,000 express bus tickets for the Aidilfitri festive season have been sold at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS).
TMAS Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Shazwan Mohammad said tickets for destinations to the East Coast are already completely sold out.
"We still have some tickets left, but most for the East Coast are gone. The remaining tickets are mainly for the south and north, which are also limited", he said when met at TBS today.
Shazwan said approximately 30 per cent of tickets for the southern and northern routes remain available.
To cope with the high demand, 12 bus companies have agreed to provide 68 additional buses for the festive period.
"This will involve an additional 200,000 tickets, which will be available for physical purchase at TBS counters starting tomorrow. Online sales for these additional tickets have already commenced," he said.
Shazwan advised passengers to arrive at the terminal at least two hours before their scheduled departure.
"We advise passengers to be here early to avoid issues such as missing their bus or facing difficulties entering the departure hall. We also encourage them to purchase return tickets now to avoid being stranded", he added. - NST
