Pos Malaysia partners Kota Buku to deliver 2 million recycled exercise books to B40 students

POS Malaysia Berhad has recently collaborated with Perbadanan Kota Buku to drive the “Two Million Recycled Exercise Books: Driving Sustainable Education” nationwide initiative that provides recycled exercise books to underprivileged (B40) students.

The programme, currently ongoing, aims to ensure better access to essential learning resources while also promoting sustainable practices.

“We are truly proud to be part of this meaningful initiative. It shows how Pos Malaysia can make a real difference—empowering students, caring for the environment, and supporting the communities we serve,” commented Pos Malaysia Berhad Group chief marketing officer Fiona Liao.

Our purpose is simple but powerful: we are passionate about building trust to connect lives and businesses for a better tomorrow. With our nationwide reach and dedicated team, we will keep driving positive change that matters.”

To date, Phase II of this initiative has resulted in the distribution of over two million recycled exercise books across 4,120 schools under the Education Ministry (MOE), benefitting more than 200,000 students nationwide.

Beyond easing the financial burden for families, amounting to an estimated RM2.4 mil in savings, the programme also supports environmental conservation by preventing the loss of approximately 2,832 trees through the use of recycled materials.

Pos Malaysia operates the nation’s most extensive and advanced last-mile network, reaching more than 11 million addresses every single day—coverage that remains unmatched by any other logistics provider in Malaysia.

This unparalleled scale, coupled with a decades‑long track record of reliability, makes Pos Malaysia the trusted partner of choice for agencies such as Kota Buku.

The company continues to outperform industry benchmarks, achieving next-day parcel delivery rates above 90% (compared to the 82% industry average) and maintaining on-time mail delivery at an impressive 93%.

Kota Buku is a government agency dedicated to expanding access to books, reading, and learning resources through innovative, sustainable literacy programmes.

With the 2026 school term underway, educational inequity remains a pressing issue for many B40 families where even basic school supplies can create financial strain. The initiative, led by Kota Buku under the MOE, addresses this gap by producing exercise books made entirely from recycled paper, turning waste into valuable resources for students who need them most.

Through Pos Care, Pos Malaysia’s dedicated social impact arm, the company plays a central role in scaling the programme’s reach.

Leveraging its logistics network, Pos Malaysia ensures direct delivery to schools with high B40 student populations. The current phase of the programme prioritises states such as Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan and Terengganu.

Deliveries began in January 2026, with all participating schools receiving their exercise books within the same month. ‒  Focus Malaysia
