KLANG: Entrepreneur and influencer Syed Muhammad Syah Hasif Syed Othman, better known as Prince Syed, has withdrawn a police report he lodged against his in-laws at the South Klang police headquarters here today.

Prince Syed, 34, said he decided to do so as he did not want the issue to drag on.

He said it was the best decision and a sign that he wanted to end the feud with his in-laws, especially with Aidilfitri approaching.

"I just want to make peace. I don't want any issues in the future. For me, the younger ones must respect the elders whether we are right or wrong.

"No matter what people throw at me, I respond with flowers. What happened before was a test for our family, and this decision is the biggest and most meaningful Hari Raya gift for my in-laws," he told Harian Metro.

Prince Syed said he made the decision without discussing it with his wife, Syazwani Ishak, 28, who only found out when they arrived at the police station.

"My wife didn't know. Before we left, I helped her get ready and asked where she wanted to go.

"I told her I wanted to take her to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) in Kuala Lumpur to shop for Hari Raya.

"But I drove to the police station instead. She was surprised and wondered why we were going there and what offence she had committed.

"She looked anxious, and when I told the police officer that I wanted to withdraw the report against her family, she was shocked and then started crying," he said.

He said he will appear in court on a date to be fixed to make a statutory declaration.

"However, I understand that the court proceedings involving my in-laws and brother-in-law scheduled for April 21 will proceed as planned," he said.

On Nov 14, Prince Syed's parents-in-law and brother-in-law — Aminah Haniffa, 56; Ishak Saif, 60; and Muhammad Ikhwan Alif Ishak, 23 — were charged at the Magistrate's Court here.

The three pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing hurt to Prince Syed.

Aminah, Ishak and Muhammad Ikhwan Alif were accused of intentionally causing injury to Prince Syed at Jalan Bertih Laut 5/KS3, Sungai Bertek, at 2.58pm on Nov 2.

The charge was framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code, which carries a maximum jail term of one year, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both upon conviction.

The court set bail at RM1,500 for each accused with one surety.

Meanwhile, in the same court, Muhammad Syahmi Faiz, 32, who is also Prince Syed's brother-in-law, pleaded not guilty to a charge of committing mischief by damaging the window of a Proton X70 belonging to his sister, Fatin Syazwani Ishak, 27, causing losses of RM560.

The plea was recorded before Magistrate Siti Zubaidah Mahat. - NST
