Rafizi unveils sycophancy nature of Prof Tajuddin Rasdi who claims he’s a “national political liability”

FORMER economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has taken a swipe at pro-Madani  political observer/commenter Prof Tajuddin Rasdi who recently claimed that the former has shifted “from being a Pakatan Harapan (PH) asset to someone who is difficult to cooperate with any party”.

Speaking in the capacity as the National Unity Advisory Council’s (MPPN) member. Tajuddin further wondered what the real role of the former PKR deputy president is by “frequently criticising without proposing practical solutions”.

“Rafizi also doesn’t receive support from the pro-Madani component parties such as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), UMNO, Amanah and most DAP leaders,” jibed the Islamic architecture professor at UCSI University in a recent statement.

“No party wants to establish close relations with individuals who openly criticise their own party and its president without shame, including when participating in demonstrations.”

In retaliation, Rafizi also insinuated at ulterior motive the action of Tajuddin who has slammed him as biadap (disrespectful) for belittling PMX ever since their fallout following last year’s PKR central leadership polls.

“It’s like fears of my views having an adverse impact on PH and DAP’s support (towards the Madani government),” observed the Pandan MP in a social media reaction.

I’ve been contesting elections for a long time. I’m also an election director. I want to share with this professor the knowledge of how to win elections.

If our party doesn’t do anything wrong, no matter how much people criticise, God willing, they will get votes.

If our party does have weaknesses, even those who don’t criticise will not vote for it.

Wong Chen steps in

This is when Rafizi advised Tajuddin to find ways to quell racial tensions emanating from the anti-kuil haram polemic than to incessantly indulge in political affairs.

It’s better for you focus on your duty as a MPPN member. Your allowance borne by taxes paid by the rakyat is not for you to comment on  politics but to harmonise racial relations in Malaysia.

It’ll be in vain if we all fought for PH’s formation and yet you as MPPN’s member is unable to fulfil that task because you’re busy commenting on politics which is outside the scope of your work. Selamat Hari Raya!

Concurring with Rafizi, fellow PKR member and ally to Rafizi’s faction, Wong Chen, also reckoned that Tajuddin’s “attacks are not very academic and the criticisms are getting more personal and erratic”.

“One thing for certain, this professor of architecture is not in the same league as Prof Wong Chin Huat or Prof James Chin who are actual professors of politics,” mocked the Subang MP in a Facebook post.

“As a political commentator, he’s also biased, by being a DAP member since 2012. What is even more strange is that after a period of silence, his own party, DAP, has finally started speaking up on governance issues such as (Tan Sri) Azam Baki and Corporate Mafia.

“Yet, Prof Tajuddin has not said a word criticising DAP’s changed stance which is now getting closer to what Rafizi, Nik Nazmi, Lee Chean Chung, myself and several other like-minded PKR MPs have been saying since last year.” –  Focus Malaysia
