The fire also damaged part of the parking garage of the building, says state fire and rescue department official.

Penang fire and rescue department assistant operations director John Sagun Francis said his department received a call about the fire at 4.30am and firefighters from the Jalan Perak fire and rescue station immediately went to the location.
“Upon arrival, our personnel found that the fire involved five vehicles in the ground floor parking area of the building and it also involved part of the garage with an estimated 50% damage.
“No casualties were reported in the incident and the fire was brought under control at 4.38am and fully extinguished at 5.09am,” he said in a statement today.
He said the vehicles involved in the incident were a Nissan Grand Livina, Mitsubishi Xpander, Perodua Myvi, Toyota Hiace van and Proton Preve with 5%-80% damage.
According to Francis, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire forensic team. - FMT
