PH deputy chairman Loke Siew Fook says anyone elected on a party ticket should show respect for the people's mandate.

Loke, who is DAP secretary-general, said the principle should be respected as the candidates were elected through the capacity of the party they represented.
“We need to respect the process that when we win on the party’s capacity, we need to remain till the next election,” he told reporters after the PH convention here.
Loke was commenting on the decisions of PKR’s former deputy president Rafizi Ramli and former vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad to leave the party and vacate their parliamentary seats tomorrow.
He said such actions might have a legal implication; whether the seats would be vacated must be decided by the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat.
Rafizi, the Pandan MP and Nik Nazmi, the Setiawangsa MP, have said they will hand in their letters regarding their seats to the Speaker tomorrow and their resignation letters to PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh on Tuesday.
The two MPs announced they would take over Parti Bersama Malaysia from party founder Tan Gin Theam as their new political platform. Bersama was set up in 2016 and has been active only in Penang. - FMT
