KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a cycling convoy caught peeing by the roadside has gone viral, sparking a wave of criticism across social media.
The clip, originally captured by a passing motorist and shared on TikTok by user @dimasnfr_, quickly racked up thousands of views and shares within 24 hours.
The footage shows several cyclists lined up by the road, a sight that has left netizens both baffled and disgusted.
Social media platforms were soon flooded with comments condemning the act as a "total disregard for public decency."
On Facebook, the backlash was swift.
One user lamented the lack of hygiene, saying, "No one wants to see that!" while another questioned if such behaviour is a "common practice" for those riding in large groups.
Other netizens took a more sarcastic route.
Todoroki Yosuke quipped: "No wonder it smells like urine at the eateries when they are around; I thought it was just the smell of sweat."
Another user, Mohd Azznil Aznil, jokingly suggested the move was for aerodynamic gains: "They're just getting rid of it to make themselves lighter; the water in their stomachs becomes a heavy burden for the pedaling."
Meanwhile, Dak Apil ironically described the scene as "peeing in a congregation," and Muhammad Asyraf Md Sham chimed in with a lyric: "Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? Who?"
It has sparked a broader debate on cyclist etiquette, with many questioning how a community often seen as health-conscious role models could be caught in such an unsanitary display. - NST
