JOHOR BARU: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has consented to personally donate 148 cattle for the voluntary sacrificial ritual (Qurban) in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude for the meaningful contribution.
"This meaningful contribution reflects the compassion and care of the Johor Royal Institution, which remains close to the hearts of the people of Johor.
"Myself and the people of Johor extend our deepest appreciation and pray that His Majesty and his family are blessed with good health, wellbeing, and continued grace and protection from Allah," he said in a statement.
Earlier, Onn Hafiz and his wife, Datin Sharmin Fazlina Mohd Shukor, visited Simpang Renggam, Kluang, in conjunction with this year's Aidiladha celebration.
He said the programme began with a "Ziarah Kasih Keluarga Angkat" in Kampung Batu 7, before joining the community to carry out the Simpang Renggam Qurban Programme.
A total of 32 cattle were distributed in the area, including mosques, surau, villages and various organisations. - NST
