'Zahid asked me to look into one or two things,' says KJ

KUALA LUMPUR: Khairy Jamaluddin, who was recently readmitted into Umno, said party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has asked him to look into specific matters.

The former Umno Youth chief said, however, that the matter was not an official role and that it was too early to elaborate.

Khairy, commonly known as KJ, also made it clear that his return to Umno was without a formal position.

"No official role, but he's asked me to look at one or two things," Khairy told reporters on the sidelines of the Umno Convention held in conjunction with the party's 80th anniversary here today.

Pressed for details, Khairy said he preferred to wait before saying more.

"I think it's a bit too early to share because I've not started yet. But certainly no official position, and I asked also for no official position.

"But he has asked me to look at something specific," he said. - NST
