Former Bersih chief Ambiga Sreenevasan has flailed PKR after the party vice-president Rafizi Ramli said that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had bulldozed the appointment of three cabinet ministers without consulting PKR.
Taking to Twitter to comment on a Malaysiakini article on the matter, Ambiga wrote: "PKR please stop your nonsense."
Regarding a similar story by Free Malaysia Today, she wrote: "I fully support the appointments by the prime minister. Please put country above all else. The rakyat did!"
Mahathir earlier announced DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as finance minister, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin as home minister, and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu as defence minister.
According to the Federal Constitution, the appointment of cabinet ministers is made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the prime minister.
Rafizi, however, claimed that the prime minister did not consult PKR on the matter, therefore bypassing Pakatan Harapan's need for consensus.
He said this meant the appointments made today were not final. -Mkini
