
PKR de facto Anwar Ibrahim yesterday had an audience with Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for more than two hours at the Istana Pelangi in Johor Bahru.
Anwar arrived at the palace at 10.50pm and the meeting lasted until after midnight.
The meeting was shared by Sultan Ibrahim's official Facebook page.
"Various matters were discussed in the closed-door meeting between Anwar and Sultan Ibrahim which lasted more than two hours.
"Also present was Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar, who is also the Permatang Pauh MP," the Johor Press Office said in a statement.
However, the statement did not disclose the contents of the discussions.
Also present at the meeting was Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
Johor, for the first time since national independence, fell to the opposition in the May 9 general election.
The new Pakatan Harapan state government is now helmed by Menteri Besar Osman Sapian, who hails from Bersatu. -Mkini
