He is believed to have sought the ruler's consent to form a new state government.
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Mohamed Azmin Ali had an audience with Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today during which he was believed to have sought the sultan’s consent to form the new state government.
Azmin, who was seen heading into the compound of Istana Bukit Keyangan here in a black Toyota Camry at 11.50am, left the palace about 20 minutes later.
He told reporters he would issue a statement later.
Azmin retained the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat and the Gombak parliamentary seat in yesterday’s election, which saw PH returning to power in Selangor by winning 51 of the 56 state legislative assembly seats.
Barisan Nasional lost eight of its 12 seats while PAS retained only one of the 12 seats it had held. - FMT
