DAP Youth chief Wong Kah Woh is disappointed that Perak Bersatu has welcomed into its fold a former state assemblyperson who triggered the 2009 Perak crisis.
Wong claimed former Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi, who jumped ship from PKR to support BN in 2009, was accepted as a Bersatu member by Perak menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu today.
"We have to remind ourselves that Pakatan Harapan is not a garbage bin to accept and keep those proven to be without principle, dignity, and has sold the people's trust for personal gain.
"This is the last thing the menteri besar should do on his first day of reporting for duty as an MB," he said in a statement today.
Jamaluddin was one of three assemblypersons from then-pact Pakatan Rakyat who declared themselves as independents in support of BN's bid to form the Perak state government in 2009.
This triggered a Perak constitutional crisis, which resulted in the downfall of the then Pakatan state government.
The current Perak Harapan state government was formed after two BN assemblypersons declared support for Faizal, albeit while still remaining in the former ruling-coalition.
One of the assemblypersons, Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin, has since joined Bersatu after being sacked from Umno. -Mkini
