ALIBABA Group executive chairman Jack Ma will be in Malaysia to meet Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad soon, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
Quoting sources, the daily said Ma was expected to discuss the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) project with Dr Mahathir.
Sources said “several groups” had called on Ma to visit Malaysia.
DFTZ, which was launched by the previous administration, is an e-hub set up by the Alibaba Group and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.
> Sin Chew Daily reported Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen as saying that the results of Malaysia’s recent general election would not only change the country’s future but that of South-East Asia.
Besides closely following the development in the region, Taiwan, said Tsai, should focus on how to strengthen ties with the bloc.
