PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has reminded Pakatan Harapan supporters not to turn into those they used to hate in the past.
Rafizi was responding to a Twitter user who had asked him to tell those who voted for PAS to return to Kelantan instead of staying in other states.
"Since PAS won, they should live under their administration and get a taste of their efforts. It's a waste for them to vote for PAS only to then stay in other states," said Twitter user chrisqck.
Rafizi, however, reprimanded the user, saying that this was an example of a Harapan supporter who needs to go back to school.
"You sound like people from Umno who told the Chinese to go back to China after the 13th general election.
"Now you are asking PAS voters to return to Kelantan?"
Rafizi said everyone has to accept how each person is entitled to his or her own views, regardless of whether they are urban or rural voters, Malays or non-Malays.
"Different views are part and parcel of life. What differentiates us from those who lost is how we respect difference of opinion. Our job is to convince the rakyat that our coalition is better."
The former Pandan MP recounted his journey since 2011 when he was campaigning to the public about the various scandals which had plagued the country.
"It was the urban, middle-class voters who ridiculed the rural Malay voters - that they eat dedak and that they do not care about corruption.
"I told them not to insult them like that, to give good explanations and to let the voters decide.
"Respect the voters' choice, even if they chose PAS," he added.
Twitter user chrisqck, however, said he was not preventing anyone from voting for the party he or she was in support of.
"But we have to understand what we are supporting. What's the function of the state government? Our vote should go towards developing the state.
"I don't think it's right for you to vote for PAS and then run away to other states to enjoy the administation of the BN and Harapan governments," said the Twitter user. - Mkini
