Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today chaired the first cabinet meeting in Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, according to Bernama.
The meeting, which began at 9.25am, was reportedly attended by all 13 ministers who were sworn in on Monday, as well as Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa and Cabinet deputy secretary-general Mazidah Abdul Majid.
Prior to that, Mahathir joined a photo session with the cabinet ministers.
Mahathir had moved into the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here earlier in the morning.
According to Bernama, Mahathir arrived at the Perdana Putra lobby at 8.25am and was welcomed by Prime Minister's Department senior deputy secretary-general Mohd Zuki Ali.
Mahathir then went to the fifth floor where his office is located and was greeted by Ali Hamsa. Prayers were recited before he entered his office.
He also signed the commencement of duty letter.
The prime minister had previously been working from his office in the Perdana Leadership Foundation since Pakatan Harapan’s win in the 14th general election on May 9.
A spokesperson had told Malaysiakini yesterday that the premier would take some time to move into the PMO as he had “other urgent matters” to attend to. - Mkini
