Azlan Man dodges questions on the political crisis in the state, saying it is 'time to start work, no more drama'.
KANGAR: Embattled Perlis Menteri Besar Azlan Man clocked in for work today after being sworn in yesterday without the presence of the nine Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen who had objected to his appointment.
Azlan, 60, arrived at his office at the state legislative assembly complex here at 10.10am. However, he declined to comment on the ongoing political crisis in the state.
Azlan, who is Bintong assemblyman, was sworn in for a second term yesterday. This followed BN’s victory at the May 9 polls, where it captured 10 of the 15 seats in the legislative assembly. Pakatan Harapan won three seats, and PAS two.“It’s time to start work, no more drama. There are administrative matters to attend to. Work more, talk less,” he said.
However, Perlis BN chairman Shahidan Kassim and the nine BN assemblymen said Azlan did not have the support of the majority of assemblymen.
